Prescription pill clandestine lab located during search warrant.

Early this morning, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team and Investigations Division along with the assistance of the SWAT Team served a search warrant in the 200 blk of Hillcrest Avenue in the city of Marina.

The Sheriff’s Office has been investigating 28-year-old Nhan Phan of Marina. During the investigation, it was discovered Phan was selling counterfeit prescription narcotics throughout the Monterey County Peninsula. During the execution of the search warrant, Investigators located a clandestine lab where Phan was manufacturing counterfeit prescription pills. Agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency processed the residence and located hundreds of pounds of chemical compounds along with thousands of pills packaged for distribution. Phan was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on child endangerment and several narcotics related charges.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend a special thanks to the Drug Enforcement Agency for all their assistance. Also, we would like to thank Salinas, Marina and Seaside Fire Departments for their support in making sure all personnel were safe during today’s operation.
